Mapping Single Electron Spins with Magnetic Tomography

Mapping the positions of single electron spins is a highly desired capability for applications such as nanoscale magnetic resonance imaging and quantum network characterization. Here, we demonstrate method based on rotating an external field to identify precise location in vicinity spin sensor. We use nitrogen-vacancy center diamond sensor modulate dipolar coupling proximate crystal by varying vector. The modulation contains information coordinates spin, from which extract its position with uncertainty 0.9 \AA{}. show that can be used locate nanometer precision up 10 nm away discuss applicability mapping hyperfine coupled it may applied locating nitroxide radicals. tomography utilized distance measurements studying structure individual molecules.
